Collect client registration details (VAT certificate, CR, ZATCA information). Understand business type (retail, trading, services, manufacturing). Review client’s accounting system setup (Odoo or other ERP).
Gather all sales invoices, purchase bills, expenses, and credit notes for the period. Collect bank statements and POS transaction records. Ensure invoices are VAT-compliant as per ZATCA guidelines.
Post all transactions into Odoo Accounting / ERP system. Match purchase VAT (input tax) and sales VAT (output tax). Verify accuracy of chart of accounts, journals, and reconciliations.
Calculate Output VAT (from sales). Calculate Input VAT (from purchases/expenses). Reconcile differences and validate net VAT payable/refundable. Ensure adjustment for exempt, zero-rated, and reverse charge transactions.
Check for missing invoices, incorrect VAT rates, or duplicate entries. Validate compliance with ZATCA e-invoicing rules (FATOORA system). Ensure all records match GCC VAT Law requirements.
Generate VAT return report directly from Odoo. Prepare summary (sales, purchases, output VAT, input VAT, net VAT). Ensure supporting schedules are ready for ZATCA submission.
File VAT return electronically through ZATCA (GAZT) online portal. Assist in payment of VAT liability or claim for VAT refund. Provide acknowledgment copy to client for record keeping.
Provide clarification if ZATCA raises queries or requires additional documents. Support in VAT audits or inspections. Maintain a secure record of filed VAT returns for future reference.
